The purpose of the home is to nurture the children in all areas of life - feed them both physically and spiritually, clothe and teach them. It is a blessing to educate these children and then see them able to work and support themselves.
When a child reaches the 9th grade, those with close relatives will then go live with them. The orphanage continues to support them and take care of them even though they are living with their relatives. This process serves two purposes:
- The child is able to learn to do things in his or her own village, thereby causing them to feel accepted in that environment.
- Because a child has left the orphanage, there is room for another child needing care.
Everything was becoming a reality to Esther and Theo and they thanked Father God for all the blessings that had been bestowed on them. It then became necessary to organize a Board of Governors who would make decisions and see that the orphanage would function in their absence when they traveled to raise money for the Children's Home.
Mature Christians were needed to help with the functions of the orphanage...thank God for their Church--Mbitini Gospel Baptist Church! The church family had a compassionate heart for helping them and they now have three other women and three other men who form the Board of Governors. Whenever the Kisavis are away, they know and trust that God will lead and direct the other six people in the mission of the Mbitini Ministries and the Mbitini Emmanuel Children's Home.
